CASCADE is one of the most influential and visually arresting designs of the Swarovski Crystal Palace era — the program in which Swarovski invited world-leading architects and designers to re-imagine the chandelier as a work of contemporary art.
Created by Vincent Van Duysen, the internationally acclaimed Belgian architect known for his pure, quiet, and refined minimalism, CASCADE transforms the traditional chandelier into a three-metre vertical light sculpture.
Instead of arms, branches, or ornamentation, Van Duysen envisioned a solid column of falling light — a shimmering, crystalline waterfall created by tens of thousands of Swarovski crystals threaded into concentric rings. LED strands run through the full height of the piece, illuminating the crystals from within and producing an effect that is both minimalistic and intensely dramatic.
Key aesthetic qualities:
