The “Printemps Bleu” Zénith chandelier designed by Steve Leung to commemorate 60 years of diplomatic relations between France and China in 2024, celebrates the encounter of two cultures.A convergence of craftsmanship, innovation and culture, Printemps Bleu combines the ancestral skills of Chinese and French porcelain with Baccarat’s mastery of crystal creation in a union of two noble materials. Inspired by a XIXth-century Baccarat archive motif and Qinghua Ci – the famous Chinese blue and white pottery – this creation is a poetic reinterpretation of the Zénith chandelier. An icon of light since the middle of the XIXth century, Zénith illuminates palaces and stunning homes with its majestic form and rich composition: twisted arms, fleur-de-lys accents, arrowed prisms, small bells and octagon chains. Continually reinterpreted by the greatest international designers, today Zénith is coronated with its first porcelain elements.Printemps Bleu is an ode to the beauty of nature with cobalt motifs of swallows, flowers, and butterflies. The collection pays tribute to the Chinese philosophy of yin and yang, celebrating the complementarity of opposites: crystal and porcelain, blue and white, France and China, East and West – seemingly opposing forces brought into perfect balance. Nine swallows are delicately perched on each lampshade of the Zénith Printemps Bleu chandelier. Symbols of luck and eternity in Chinese culture, they celebrate the arrival of a joyful spring.
